The Surplus Shotgun is the base secondary weapon upon a starting Scav's journey. It requires buying 12-Gauge Shells from weapon merchants. Scavs do not lose this weapon upon death because upon respawning to the Innards, they will provide another Surplus Shotgun but not the extra ammo the Scav brought with them.
The appearance resembles the Remington Model 870 and is close to real world weight.
